RCMP Police Dog Service assist in arrest a man fleeing from Police

In the afternoon of January 17, 2018, Kings District RCMP were made aware that a 24 year-old man with outstanding court issued warrants was at a local establishment in Montague. A Kings District officer attended the location and attempted to place him under arrest. The man resisted arrest, assaulting the male officer and fled on foot. RCMP Police Dog Services attended the scene and tracked the man to a nearby business where he was found hiding in a vehicle. He was taken into custody without further incident. The member involved was not harmed during the incident.

The 24 year-old male from the Montague Area was brought before the courts and was held in custody until his appearance in Georgetown Provincial Court, Thursday, January 18. In addition to the outstanding warrant charges, the male now faces two additional charges of Resist Arrest & Assault of a Police Officer.
