On November 6, 2018, Twillingate RCMP partnered with Provincial Highway Enforcement Officers to conduct commercial vehicle checks and inspections in the New World Island and Twillingate area.
Mobile inspection stations and weigh scales were set up to ensure compliance with the Highway Traffic Act and Regulations.
A number of summary offence tickets were issued to drivers as a result of the inspections and one commercial vehicle was suspended from service.
RCMP reminds motorists of the requirement to maintain vehicles and equipment and to ensure vehicles are safe to be on the road. RCMP will continue to partner with Highway Enforcement Officers and will be conducting further inspections in the future.
