Members of the Media are invited to attend a special presentation at Forest Park Primary School in Grand Falls-Windsor on Tuesday, June 19, at 9:30 a.m., where grade two student Landon Bishop will receive a prize package from the RCMP Grand Falls-Windsor Detachment Commander Staff Sergeant Kelly Bryan and RCMP School Liaison Constable Denise Sutton. Landon was one of 12 winners from across the country in the RCMP Name the Foal Contest 2018. Landon submitted the winning name of "Pax". The RCMP selection committee liked the name because it translates to "Peace" in Latin.
Pax is currently living with his mom at the Pakenham stables, where he will develop and mature and eventually begin specialty Musical Ride training. Landon has personally given Pax a great start to his career.
Landon enjoys playing sports, especially hockey and baseball. He is no stranger to horses as his sister has a pet horse named Sonny. Landon helps to clean Sonny's stall and occasionally gets to ride him as well. Landon chose Pax because he thought it was a cool name.
