On November 18, 2017 at approximately 3:30 p.m., Northeast District RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision on Gaythorne Road in Tabusintac.
The vehicle with four people inside left the road landing in a ditch. An 80-year-old woman from the Lunenburg, Nova Scotia area was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and the other two passengers, all in their 80s, were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation although speed and alcohol have been ruled out as factors.
