Parades

Weather permitting, all parades take place on the historic Sleigh Square at the RCMP Academy, “Depot” Division. In case of inclement weather, parades are held in the Drill Hall.

Sergeant Major’s Parade

The Sergeant Major’s Parade includes a roll call and inspection of the troops, accompanied by the Cadet Band.

Visitors to the Sergeant Major's Parade must pre-register at the RCMP Heritage Centre.

Please arrive at the Heritage Centre by 12:00 to allow time for bags to be secured in lockers and security tags issued.

Tours depart the RCMP Heritage Centre at 12:25.

  • Dates: Monday through Friday, except statutory holidays
  • Time: 12:45–1:20 p.m.

Note that if the parade is held inside on a graduation day (most Mondays), only graduation guests will be allowed in the Drill Hall due to limited seating. If weather is nice and the Sergeant Major's Parade is held outside on the Parade Square, all visitors will be permitted to attend.

Sunset-Retreat Ceremony

  • Date: Canada Day (July 1) and subsequent Tuesdays until mid August
  • Time: 6:45–7:30 p.m.

Memorial Parade

  • Date: Second Sunday in September
