The Yukon RCMP continues to investigate the explosion that occurred November 14, 2023 in the Riverdale neighbourhood which resulted in the tragic death of a community member. Due to an ongoing and complex criminal investigation, police are not yet able to provide details to the public. The family of the deceased have displayed great patience throughout the investigation. Out of respect for the families involved, the Major Crime Unit asks that questions be directed to police, and not to the family as they are still grieving the loss of their loved one. The public and the media can be assured the Major Crime Unit investigators will provide an update to the matter as soon as they are able.
