RCMP Police Service Dog (PSD) Phox and his handler, Constable (Cst.) Daniel Rouleau of RCMP Police Dog Services, have been actively engaged in promoting community safety in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. In September, the team responded to 27 calls for service.

On September 27, 2024, PSD Phox apprehended a suspect in relation to a number of attempted residential break and enters. The man was charged for the crimes and was brought before the court.

On September 12, three individuals were apprehended by the team for various criminal offences, including theft of a motor vehicle, assault and mischief (damage to property). One of these individuals was wanted in relation to charges of domestic violence. All three were arrested and brought before the court.

Earlier in the month, Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP responded to a report of an individual experiencing a mental health crisis who had ran into a wooded area and required medical attention. PSD Phox and his handler quickly located the individual, who was safely transported to the hospital for required medical attention.

PSD Phox and Cst. Rouleau are an amazing asset to policing operations in the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, as well as the surrounding area. The team remains dedicated to the protection of public safety.

Keep up the great work!
