The Codiac Regional RCMP have charged two individuals and are seeking the public's help following an attempted armed robbery in Dieppe, N.B.
On November 22, 2024, at approximately 10:14 p.m., the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to an attempted robbery with a firearm on Acadie Avenue, in Dieppe. Three suspects had since fled the scene in a black 2007 Honda Civic. When police arrived at the scene, it was learned that the firearm had been discharged during the attempted robbery.
The victim of the attempted armed robbery sustained what were believed to be minor injuries, unrelated to the discharged firearm, and was treated at the scene.
Through their investigation, it was determined that the victim and the three suspects were known to each other, and that this was an isolated incident.
A short time later, police located the suspect vehicle in the Fairview Knoll's Park area, where three suspects were arrested without incident, after crashing their car. A 29-year-old man was later released from custody pending a future court appearance.
On November 24, 2024, 33-year-old Ryan Marr-Melanson and 34-year-old Maxime Inder, both from Dieppe, N.B., appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and were charged with robbery with a firearm. They were both remanded into custody and were scheduled to return to court at a later date.
On November 26, both appeared in Moncton Provincial Court. Ryan Marr-Melanson was charged with flight from police and multiple other firearms offences. Maxime Inder was charged with multiple firearms offences. Both were remanded into custody and are scheduled to return to court at a later date.
Anyone who was walking, travelling in, or who resides in the areas of Acadie Avenue or Fairview Knoll's Park, and may have security camera or dash cam footage from the time of the incident, or who has information that may help further the investigation, is asked to contact the Codiac Regional RCMP at 506-857-2400.
