Police investigating pedestrian collision in downtown Whitehorse

Whitehorse RCMP is investigating a collision that took place on February 13, 2024, on Second Ave. Police want to speak with any witnesses to this incident, or anyone with dashcam footage showing this collision.

At 9:10am, police received a call of a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle on Second Avenue near Ogilvie Street. Officers attended with Yukon Emergency Medical Services, Whitehorse Fire, and Whitehorse Bylaw Services. The pedestrian was injured and transported to hospital for assessment and treatment. Police will not share further details on their identity or injuries. The cause of the collision is still under investigation though drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors.

There were a significant number of people in the area who may have witnessed this incident.
