A 32-year-old woman is facing charges of impaired operation after she was stopped for speeding by Baie Verte RCMP on September 1, 2024.
Shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, the vehicle was observed on Route 410 near Flatwater Park and was traveling 134 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. Police conducted a traffic stop and determined that the vehicle was unregistered. The driver showed signs of alcohol impairment, failed a roadside breath test and was arrested for impaired driving.
At the detachment, the woman provided further breath samples that were above the legal limit. She will appear in court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired driving. In addition, she was ticketed for excessive speed and operating an unregistered vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act. Her licence was suspended and the vehicle was seized and impounded.
