Airdrie RCMP continue to investigate the July 29, 2024, shooting in the Luxstone subdivision of Airdrie. The initial investigation has revealed that although this is believed to have been a targeted incident, the apartment complex struck is not believed to have been the intended target.
RCMP have obtained a better-quality image of the suspect and are asking for public assistance in identifying him.
The suspect is described as:
- Late teens to early twenties;
- Riding a BMX bike;
- Wearing blue pants, and a black backpack.
Additionally, RCMP are asking anyone in the Luxstone, Midtown and 8Street areas of Airdrie to review their video footage on July 29, 2024, between the hours of 6:45 p.m. through 7:15 p.m. If anyone has footage of any males with a bike similar to the subject in the photo, or of a grey four door sedan, please contact Airdrie RCMP.

Airdrie RCMP advise of heavy police presence while officers respond to firearms complaint
Airdrie RCMP are currently on scene responding to reports that at approximately 7 p.m., an individual fired gunshot at two residences in the Luxstone neighbourhood of Airdrie. There are no reports of injuries at this time. While police respond, we are asking residents to remain vigilant of the suspect who remains at large.
The suspect is described as:
- Late teens to early twenties;
- Riding a BMX bike;
- Wearing Blue pants, and a black backpack.
Police have obtained photos of an individual that we believe is a suspect at this time.
