Whistle Bend break and enter – still under investigation

Whitehorse RCMP is continuing to investigate the break and enter that occurred in the Whistle Bend neighbourhood of Whitehorse on April 12, 2023. Police believe this is an isolated incident.

At approximately 2:30 pm, police received a call of a break and enter in progress in the Whistle Bend neighbourhood of Whitehorse. The caller reported that they could observe on home surveillance cameras a person who appeared to be carrying a weapon and attempting to enter a home. Police immediately attended the area. The officers on scene established that the person left the home while police were on their way to the neighbourhood.

Investigators have followed up on information and appreciate the public's assistance. Police are continuing to follow up on leads from the public and encourage anyone who may have information to contact the Whitehorse RCMP.

Anyone with dashcam video in the Whistle Bend area between the hours of noon and 3:00 pm on April 12 is encouraged to reach out to Whitehorse RCMP. Anyone with exterior video surveillance or doorbell cams that have not yet spoken with police are also encouraged to reach out to Whitehorse RCMP. Sometimes, even information that may seem insignificant can be an important factor in an investigation.

Police will continue to do enhanced patrols in the Whistle Bend neighbourhood of Whitehorse while this investigation is ongoing.
