As a result of continued investigation into the death of Tyler Mooswa, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes arrested a male in North Battleford on June 5, 2023.

31-year-old Wade Frenchman from Moosomin First Nation is charged with one count, first degree murder, Section 235, Criminal Code.

He is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on June 7, 2023.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes investigating suspicious death on Moosomin First Nation

On June 4, 2023 at approximately 5:45 a.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of a sudden death in an open outdoor area on Moosomin First Nation.

Officers immediately responded and located an adult male, who was declared deceased by EMS at the scene.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes took carriage of the investigation into the male's death, which is considered suspicious in nature.

He has been identified as 35-year-old Tyler Mooswa from Moosomin First Nation. His family has been notified and victim services offered to them.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes continues to investigate and residents of Moosomin First Nation may notice an increased police presence in the community. If an increased risk to public safety is identified, Saskatchewan RCMP will inform the public.

Investigators ask anyone who has information about Tyler Mooswa's death, or who saw or had contact him during the late evening of June 3 or early morning of June 4, to contact their local police service of jurisdiction immediately.
