RCMP seeking public’s help following break, enter and theft, assault

The St. Stephen RCMP is asking for the public's help following a break, enter and theft, and assault in Heathland, N.B.

On February 7, 2023, at approximately 2:45 p.m., members of the St. Stephen RCMP detachment responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence on Route 740 in Heathland, NB. The 77-year old homeowner arrived at his residence to find two unknown men in his home. The suspects damaged the interior of the home during the intrusion and stole a number of personal items before assaulting the homeowner and fleeing the scene. Both suspects were reportedly armed with hand tools.

The suspects are described as both being men who appeared to be in their forties. One suspect has long hair, the other was tall with a slender build.

They were travelling in a blue SUV, possibly a Jeep Liberty or similar model. The vehicle had a hitch attachment in the back, and was also missing a tire on the rear spare tire mount.

Anyone who lives in the area and has surveillance video footage from February 7 at approximately 2:45 p.m., who was in the area at the time of the incident and witnessed suspicious activity, or who may have information that could help further the investigation, is asked to contact the St. Stephen RCMP at 506-466-7030. The investigation is ongoing.
