Port Saunders RCMP responds to single-vehicle crash, driver arrested for impaired driving

A 41-year-old woman was arrested by Port Saunders RCMP on February 10, 2023, following a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Route 430 near Reef's Harbour.

Shortly after 5:30 a.m., police received the report of the crash and attended the scene. The driver, who was driving while suspended and without insurance or registration, showed signs of alcohol impairment and was arrested for impaired driving. In addition, she was found in breach of a condition of a court release order.

At the detachment, she provided breath samples that were above the legal limit. She was released from custody, ticketed under the Highway Traffic Act for the applicable violations, received a further licence suspension and the vehicle was seized and impounded. She is scheduled to attend court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired driving and breach of a court release order.
