Police arrest two men after drug trafficking investigation

Two 45-year-old men, both from Moncton, N.B. have been charged following a drug trafficking investigation in the community.

On February 14, 2023, the Codiac Regional RCMP's Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) began an investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs in the Moncton area.

On February 16, 2023, at approximately 5 p.m., members of the Codiac CRU executed a search warrant at a residence on Church Street in Moncton, in connection with the investigation. During the search, police seized two replica firearms, a non-restricted firearm, quantities of what are believed to be methamphetamine, fentanyl and hydromorphone, and cash. Two 45-year-old men were arrested at the scene.

Both men were later released, and are scheduled to appear in court on June 12, 2023.

The public plays an important role in helping to reduce, prevent and solve crime, including the trafficking of illegal drugs.
