On January 1, 2023, at approximately 5:50 am, Moose Lake RCMP responded to a shooting on Sesame Street, on Mosakahiken Cree Nation.
The investigation has determined that three teens were walking on Sesame Street, when a male suspect shot at them. Two females aged 16 and 19-years-of-age were injured and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other teen was not physically injured.
A suspect was identified and arrested. A 15-year-old male has been charged with numerous offences including Discharge Firearm with Intent x2, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Assault with a Weapon x2 and Failing to Comply x2.
He was remanded into custody.
