Meteghan RCMP charge two with drug offence

Meteghan RCMP has charged two people with a drug offence in Saulnierville.

On May 30, 2023, as part of an ongoing investigation, Meteghan RCMP, with assistance from the Yarmouth/Clare RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) and Southwest RCMP Traffic Services, executed a search warrant at a home on Saulnierville Rd. in Saulnierville. No one was present in the home at the time the search warrant was executed.

During the search, RCMP officers located and seized cocaine, unstamped tobacco, scales, cash, illegally distilled alcohol and equipment used to distill alcoholic beverages.

On June 1, 2023, Aaron Duncanson, 43, and Elsie Duncanson, 53, were arrested. They have been jointly charged with:

  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking;
  • Possession of Tobacco in which Tax has not been Paid;
  • Possession of Tobacco not Bearing a Prescribed Mark;
  • Possession of Unpackaged Tobacco for Sale;
  • Unlawfully Keeping Liquor for Sale

Both have been released from custody and will appear in Digby Provincial Court on August 14, 2023.
