Manitoba RCMP Traffic Services conduct traffic stop and seize firearm and tobacco

Firearm seized

On May 26, 2023, at approximately 2:00 pm, RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in a parking lot of a business, just off Highway 59 in the RM of St. Clements.

During the stop the officer observed unstamped tobacco in the vehicle and both occupants were arrested. A further search was conducted and the officer located a 3D printed handgun.

Zachary Gladu, 23, of Winnipeg have been charged with:

Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
Possession of a Restricted Firearm/Prohibited Weapon with Ammo without Licence/Registration
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm/Prohibited Weapon or Restricted Weapon
Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Drayden Prince, 20, of Winnipeg has been charged with:

Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
Possession of a Restricted Firearm/Prohibited Weapon with Ammo without Licence/Registration
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm/Prohibited Weapon or Restricted Weapon
Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Failing to Comply

They were remanded into custody.

Both are also facing Provincial charges for the illegal tobacco.

The investigation is ongoing.
