Man sentenced in connection with aggravated assault

A 22-year-old man from Listiguj, Quebec, has been sentenced in connection with an aggravated assault in Campbellton, N.B.

On February 11, 2023, members of the Campbellton RCMP detachment responded to a report of an altercation between three individuals on Andrew street in Campbellton. When police arrived at the scene, they located a 23-year-old man on the side of the road. He was transported to the hospital with what were believed to be serious, life-threatening injuries.

On February 12, a 22-year-old man from Listiguj, Quebec, was arrested in Campbellton in connection with the incident.

On February 13, Storm Martin appeared in Campbellton Provincial Court and was charged with failure to comply with a probation order. On February 15, a charge of aggravated assault was also laid against Storm Martin. He was remanded into custody.

On May 30, Storm Martin appeared in Campbellton Provincial Court and was sentenced to two and a half years in prison, minus time served.

The investigation is ongoing.
