Man charged following harassment investigation

A 20-year-old man from Moncton, N.B., has been charged with criminal harassment in connection with a series of incidents in Moncton, N.B.

Between May 23 and May 26, 2023, members of the Codiac Regional RCMP received multiple reports of an individual who was following and approaching individuals in the downtown core of Moncton.

Through a subsequent investigation and with help from the public, police were able to identify a 20-year-old man from Moncton, N.B. as a person of interest, and on May 26, the man was arrested in connection with the investigation.

On May 30, Benjamin Blanchard appeared in Moncton Provincial court and was charged with criminal harassment and breach of probation.

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on June 5, 2023.

The investigation is ongoing.
