In January 2023, Leduc RCMP Drug Unit entered into a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) investigation in the area of Leduc.

On April 14th, 2023, Leduc RCMP Drug Unit with the with the assistance of Leduc RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, General Investigation Section and Beaumont General Investigation Section, executed two search warrants in Sherwood Park, Alta. One person was arrested.

A search of the residence and vehicle resulted in the seizure of cocaine, cash, digital scales and drug packaging materials.

A 67-year-old individual, a resident of Sherwood Park, has been charged with the following:

  • Trafficking a controlled substance – Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance – Cocaine
  • Possession of proceeds of crime

This individual was taken before a Justice of the Peace and has been released from custody. They are scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park provincial court on May 31, 2023.
