RCMP continue to investigate an occurrence that occurred on Dec. 13, 2021, where Bonnyville RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress where a homeowner interrupted suspects who pointed a gun at him. As a result of continued investigation, on Dec. 15, 2022, Bonnyville RCMP, with the assistance of Airdrie RCMP, arrested a 35-year-old individual, a resident of Frog Lake.
The 35-year-old individual has been charged with 27 offences including:
- Weapons offences (x17)
- Kidnapping with a firearm
- Assault with a weapon (x4)
- Driving Offences
- Breaking and Entering
- Possession of property obtained by crime (x2)
The 35-year-old individual appeared in Bonnyville provincial court on Jan. 3, 2023.

Heavy RCMP presence in Frog Lake – Update #2
RCMP continue to investigate an occurrence that occurred on Dec. 13, 2021, where Bonnyville RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress where a homeowner interrupted suspects who pointed a gun at him. As a result of continued investigation, on November 2, 2022, Bonnyville RCMP arrested a 25-year-old individual, a resident of Cold Lake, Alta.
The 25-year-old individual has been charged with 21 offences including:
- Weapons offences (x17)
- Kidnapping with a firearm
- Breaking and Entering
- Possession of property obtained by crime (x2)
The 25-year-old individual has been remanded in custody with her next court appearance set for Nov. 15, 2022, at Bonnyville provincial court.
