Update-Flin Flon RCMP investigate suspicious person near Ruth Betts School

The RCMP is no longer asking the public for assistance on this matter. The person in the vehicle has been identified and has spoken with investigators. The matter remains under investigation.

Flin Flon RCMP are advising residents of an incident that occurred on February 8, 2023, at approximately 9:00 am on Terrace Avenue, in Flin Flon.

A young female teen was walking on Terrace Avenue near the school, when a male driving a truck pulled up beside her. The male yelled at her to get in the vehicle, but she quickly walked away into the school. She reported it to a family member around noon, and at that time the school and RCMP were notified.

The vehicle is described as a black or grey, older model pick-up truck with an extended cab. It is equipped with a headache bar (a rack attached to the rear window of the truck).

The male is described as older, with a grey facial hair. He was wearing a grey hoodie and a dark coloured baseball cap.
