On March 28, 2023, at 1:30 a.m., Chateh RCMP responded to a report that a residence in Chateh had been shot at. Upon arrival, officers observed three bullet holes inside as well as multiple shell casings outside. Fortunately, no occupants of the residence were injured. Witnesses described seeing a white car in the area at the time of the shooting.
Later the same day at 11:33 a.m., RCMP responded to a report of a bullet hole found inside a residence. Occupants of the residence advised the previous evening, around 5 p.m., they heard a loud bang. The next morning, while cleaning the house, they found a bullet hole inside the house. No one was injured in this shooting. Witnesses described seeing a white, 4-door truck in the area at the time of the shooting.
Chateh RCMP's investigation into both shootings continues. Additionally, officers are determining if these shootings are related to two pervious ones reported on Feb. 17 and 23, 2023. Police are seeking any witnesses who may have information in regard to all of these incidents.
