Biggar RCMP investigate report of armed robbery with a firearm, ask public for information

Earlier this morning, at approximately 12:45 a.m., Biggar RCMP received the report of an attempted armed robbery at a residence located on the 200th block of 2nd Avenue East in Biggar, SK.

Biggar RCMP responded immediately. Initial investigation determined two suspects were involved in the attempted robbery. The suspects were unable to enter the residence and departed on foot. The occupant of the residence did not sustain any physical injury in relation to the incident.

The suspects were described as being between approximately 5'6" and 5'10", with slim builds. Both had their faces covered. Police are working diligently to gather more information on the descriptions of the suspects involved. Police have conducted a thorough search of the exterior of the residence, conducted neighbourhood inquiries, and continue to follow-up on information provided to them.

Residents in the community can expect an increased police presence for an undetermined amount of time as police work to locate and identify the individuals involved.

The investigation is ongoing and officers remain committed to notifying the public should an elevated risk to their safety be identified.
