Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigate found body in Saddle Lake Cree Nation

On May 20, 2023, St. Paul RCMP received a report of found human remains in the North Saskatchewan River on Saddle Lake Cree Nation. The deceased was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton, and the death has been deemed as a homicide.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.

The identity of the deceased is known; however, it is not being released at this time.
