UPDATE: Yarmouth Rural RCMP arrest two men in discharge of firearm from a vessel

Yarmouth Rural RCMP has arrested two men in relation to a shot being fired from a boat near Chebogue Point.

On July 20, 2022, Yarmouth Rural RCMP responded to a complaint of a shot being fired from a boat near Chebogue Point. RCMP officers learned that the boat was approaching another vessel, when a man fired a shot in the air. No one was injured during the incident.

On July 21, 2022, Yarmouth Rural RCMP arrested a 28-year-old Argyle man in relation to this investigation. The man was later released from custody on conditions and will be facing charges of Careless Use of a Firearm and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. The man will appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court on September 26, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.

On July 28, 2022, Yarmouth Rural RCMP arrested a 39-year-old Argyle man in relation to this investigation. The man was later released from custody on conditions and will be facing charges of Careless Use of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Dangerous Operation of a Vessel. The man will appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court on September 26, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.
