Unruly airline passenger assaults crew member and is arrested by Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP

A passenger flight originating in Iceland was forced to make an emergency landing in Happy Valley-Goose Bay due to the unruly actions of 33-year-old Rasheed Adedokun of the United States.

The plane touched down in Happy Valley-Goose Bay shortly after 5:00 p.m. yesterday. Adedokun was removed from the flight and arrested by Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP after reports that he was causing a disturbance and assaulted a crew member.

Adedokun attends court today and is charged with the following criminal offences:

  • Assault
  • Mischief over $5000.00 (interference of the flight causing the emergency landing)

In addition, he is charged under the Aeronautics Act for engaging in behaviours that endangered the safety or security of an aircraft and its passengers while in flight.
