Strathcona County RCMP arrest female for aggravated assault

Strathcona County RCMP have arrested an individual in relation to an aggravated assault on two victims.

On May 14, 2022 at 7:14 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP received a report of an assault from the Strathcona County Hospital who had two male victims suffering from stab wounds.

The victims indicated they were assaulted in a vehicle by an individual known to them while travelling on Highway 21 in Sherwood Park, Alta.

A 23-year-old individual, of Wetaskiwin, Alta., has been charged with the following:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Disobeying court order (x2)

The 23-year-old was released following a Judicial Interim Release hearing and is scheduled to appear on June 15, 2022.

This matter is before the courts, so no further details will be provided.

Both victims suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and have since been released from hospital.
