St. Paul RCMP execute search warrant related to local break and enter

October 5, 2022
St. Paul, Alberta

News release

On Sept. 2, 2022, at approximately 7:22 a.m., St. Paul RCMP received a complaint of a break and enter into a local business located at 4721 52 Ave. Three males entered and stole numerous tools and vehicle keys. The business was able to provide RCMP with serial numbers for all stolen tools.

Noticing an increase in property crime in town at night, St. Paul RCMP have been conducting foot patrols around town. During these foot patrols, members have identified numerous people walking around at night.

As a result of the foot patrols, two males were arrested on outstanding warrants on Sept. 13, 2022. Following a search of one of the males, police located stolen property belonging to the business that had been broken into on Sept. 2, 2022. The male was held in custody.

RCMP were able to gather enough information to obtain a search warrant, which was executed alongside the Eastern Alberta Division Crime Reduction Unit on Sept. 15, 2022. The search resulted in the recovery of numerous stolen tools. Because the business provided police with the serial numbers on their tools, the property was returned.

A 38-year-old individual, resident of St. Paul, was charged with the following:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime less than or equal $5000

The individual was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear on Oct. 20, 2022, in St. Paul provincial court.

The public is asked to record the serial numbers for their property, thus allowing RCMP to return any recovered stolen property.
