News release

On September 21, 2022, at approximately 8:00 pm, Selkirk RCMP responded to a firearm incident on St. Andrews Road, in the RM of St. Andrews.

A white Nissan SUV was travelling east on St. Andrews Road, when it almost struck several children who were outside of the St. Andrews Community Centre. An adult who witnessed this, saw the vehicle stop at the nearby school, and went over to speak with the occupants. The passenger in the suspect vehicle, who had already exited the vehicle, lifted his shirt which showed a handgun in his waistband. He then pulled out the handgun, pointed it at the victim and ran towards him.

The victim was able to leave the area and immediately called 911.

Selkirk RCMP officers responded immediately and made numerous patrols in and around the area but did not locate the suspect vehicle.

The vehicle is described as a newer white Nissan SUV with a gold Blue Bomber Manitoba licence plate. The licence plate begins with B08___.

There were two occupants in the vehicle, however we do not have a description of the driver. The male passenger is described as Caucasian, in his late teens, 5'10"-6'0" in height, wearing a white t-shirt, and a white ballcap that was on backwards.
