Update - Selkirk RCMP investigate aggravated assault

Vernon Hamilton has been arrested. The RCMP thanks the public and the media for their assistance.


On January 20, 2022, at approximately 8:05 pm, RCMP responded to an aggravated assault at a residence on Eveline Street in Selkirk.

An adult male assaulted two females, aged 35 and 19, and then fled.

RCMP attended, along with Police Dog Services, however the male was not located. The 19-year-old female was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The other female was treated on scene and released.

RCMP are currently looking for assistance in locating the male.

Vernon George Hamilton, 38, is currently WANTED for Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon and Mischief. He is 5'7", 145 lbs with black hair and brown eyes.
