Molonosa Cultural Days were held from August 7 to 12. The popular annual event, organized by the Montreal Lake Cree Nation Sports, Culture and Recreation Committee, allows community members to gather and enjoy cultural activities, games and entertainment, all on the beautiful shores of historical Lake Molonosa.

Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore and officers from the Saskatchewan RCMP's La Ronge detachment, North District Management Team and Indigenous Policing Services joined in the festivities on August 8. Saskatchewan RCMP Community Program Officers and local Victim Services were also there, handing out treats including ice cream and cotton candy.

"It's friendly events like this that help us build community relationships. To create connections and to strengthen the bonds that already exist," Assistant Commissioner Blackmore said. "We talk a lot about Reconciliation. I firmly believe this is what it is. Slowly making overtures to spend more time with each other. And understand each other. Be there for each other. From what I am seeing here, it is well under way. And I am very happy to see that."

The Saskatchewan RCMP thanked the organizers and community leaders for inviting them to the enjoyable event.
