RCMP seize drugs and weapons in Dauphin

On July 1, 2022, at approximately 3:20 pm, officers with the Manitoba RCMP West District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST) conducted a traffic stop as part of an ongoing investigation on 1st Street SE in Dauphin.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of cocaine, illicit prescription drugs, and cash. Further investigation led to the search of a residence on 4th Avenue SE in Dauphin, where officers from West District CREST and Dauphin RCMP seized 176 grams of cocaine, illicit cannabis, illicit prescription drugs, cash, a loaded rifle, unstamped cigarettes, and multiple drug trafficking paraphernalia items.

Katie Ann Schabler, 42, from Dauphin was arrested and charged with Possession for the purpose of trafficking x3, Possession of illicit cannabis, Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Unsafe storage of firearms, Possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized, Fail to comply, and charges under the Tax Administration and Miscellaneous Taxes Act.

She was remanded into custody.
