The Saint- Léonard RCMP is seeking the public's help in identifying a person of interest following a theft of gas in Rivière-Verte, N.B.

On September 18, 2022, at approximately 12:30 p.m., members of the Saint- Léonard RCMP Detachment responded to a report of a theft of gas from a business on Davis Road in Rivière-Verte. The individual filled a truck full of gas and drove off without paying. The truck the individual was driving was later determined to match the description of a vehicle reported as stolen from Saint John on September 11.

The truck is described as being a black 2011 GMC Canyon with New Brunswick licence plate CPX 806 and vehicle identification number 1GTE5NF96B8115278.

Police are releasing surveillance footage photos of the individual in hopes that someone may recognize him. The man is described as wearing a black hat, a grey sweatshirt with a 'Reebok' logo on the front, and black pants.

Anyone who recognizes the individual in the photos, or who may have information that could help further the investigation, is asked to contact the Saint- Léonard RCMP at 506-473-3137
