RCMP investigate hit and run involving cyclist

The Saint-Leonard RCMP is seeking the public's assistance following a hit and run involving a cyclist in the LSD of Saint-Jacques, N.B.

On June 2, 2022, at approximately 6:25 p.m., police responded to a report of a hit and run involving a pickup truck and a cyclist on chemin de la rivière Madawaska. The pickup truck struck the cyclist and failed to remain at the scene. The 65-year-old cyclist suffered minor injuries.

The vehicle of interest is described as a dark grey or black pickup truck with a silver flatbed trailer attached. A licence plate number is not available at this time.

Despite the limited information, police are hoping that anyone travelling in the area at the time of the incident, or who witnessed the hit and run, may have information that can help further the investigation. Police are also asking anyone who was driving through the area at the time of the incident and has dash-cam footage to review their footage.

Anyone who witnessed this hit and run, who may have dash-camera footage of the incident, or has any information that may help the ongoing investigation is asked to contact the Saint-Léonard RCMP at 506-473-3137.
