RCMP charge two men with offences related to drug trafficking

The Yarmouth/Clare RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) has charged two men with offences related to drug trafficking in Yarmouth County.

On May 19, 2022, as part of a cocaine trafficking investigation, Yarmouth/Clare RCMP SCEU, executed a search warrant on a grey Ford Escape in Tusket that had been seized as part of an unrelated investigation. During the search, RCMP officers located and seized cocaine, a digital scale and a firearm.

On June 15, RCMP officers safely arrested a 52-year-old man at a home in Pembroke. During the arrest, a cellular phone was seized.

Eric Reginald Penney, 52, has been charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm when Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized.

Penney was released on conditions and will appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court on August 15, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.

A second man, Devin Jeddry, 21, of Pembroke, has also been charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm when Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized.

The investigation was assisted by Yarmouth Rural RCMP, Meteghan RCMP, and RCMP Forensic Identification Services.
