RCMP arrests two men at Holyrood residence, seizes drugs

Two men were arrested by RCMP officers in Holyrood yesterday following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Holyrood as part of an ongoing investigation.

Multiple RCMP units were engaged in the operation, including officers from Holyrood and Ferryland detachments, the East District General Investigation Section, the Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services, the Explosive Disposal Unit, and the Tactical Support Group.

On Thursday afternoon, officers entered the Woodford Station Road home and arrested two men inside. A large quantity of psilocybin (mushrooms) was seized, as well as a quantity of cannabis. In addition, a marihuana grow operation, significantly exceeding the legal allowance for plants in a dwelling, was discovered inside the home.

The two men were released from custody with drug charges anticipated.

The investigation is continuing.
