On June 6, 2022, Punnichy RCMP received the report of a theft of traditional Indigenous regalia from a residence in Kawacatoose First Nation.

Punnichy RCMP officers met with the occupants of the house on the same day and have been searching for the regalia ever since. At this time, the regalia has not been located and police officers are asking for the public's assistance.

The theft is believed to have occurred between May 2022 and June 4, 2022, from a residence in Kawacatoose First Nation.

The stolen regalia includes three items. They are described as:

  • a white eagle fan,
  • a blue and white beaded beret with feathers,
  • a blue and white breastplate with feathers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Punnichy RCMP at 306-835-5200 or 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously to Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.

Kawacatoose First Nation is located approximately 130 km north of Regina and 10 km east of Highway 6.
