Norway House RCMP respond to firearm discharge

On August 16, 2022, at approximately 11:30 pm, Norway House RCMP received a report of a firearm having been discharged from an ATV in the community.

Officers immediately attended the area and were advised that a 4-year-old female, who had been standing outside of a residence, had suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Witnesses indicated two males were seen riding an ATV through the area at the time of the shooting.

While police and EMS were on scene, several more gunshots were overheard close by. Additional officers attended the scene and after conducting extensive neighbourhood enquiries, two suspects were identified.

A 16-year-old male was located in his residence and arrested without incident. He remains in police custody.

Officers continue to search for the other 19-year-old male suspect.

Norway House RCMP and Major Crime Services continue to investigate.
