Update, July 19, 2023: Timothy O'Donnell has since been sentenced to seven years and 15 days in prison, minus time already served. Upon his release, he will be prohibited from owning firearms for ten years, and will have to submit a DNA sample.

A 33-year-old man from Woodstock, N.B., has been charged following a drug and weapons seizure in the community.

On May 25, 2022, at around 6 a.m., the Provincial Crime Reduction Unit (PCRU) executed a search warrant at a home on Park Street in Woodstock. The team was assisted by members of the Western Valley Regional RCMP, the Woodstock Police Force, and peace officers with the Department of Public Safety. During the search, police seized an unsafely stored 12-gauge shotgun, ammunition, bear spray, and a wooden club. Police also seized a quantity of what it believed to be cocaine, as well as drug trafficking paraphernalia, and stolen property.

One man was arrested in the home.

On May 25, Timothy O'Donnell appeared in Woodstock Provincial Court and was charged with:

  • possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine,
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • unsafe storage of a firearm
  • possession of property obtained by crime
  • three charges of failing to comply with an undertaking

He was remanded in custody pending a court appearance on May 27 at 2 p.m. for a bail hearing.

The investigation is continuing.
