Lloydminster RCMP search warrant leads to firearms trafficking charges

In January 2022 the Lloydminster RCMP General Investigations Section entered into a firearms trafficking investigation into a Lloydminster resident. On February 26, 2022, Lloydminster RCMP and the Lloydminster RCMP General Investigations Section executed search warrants at two Lloydminster residences and located several unsafely stored firearms and ammunition inside. A warrant was issued for the accused, and he was arrested on March 30, 2022.

A 37-year-old male of Lloydminster, Sask. has been charged with the following:

  • Firearms trafficking
  • Careless storage of a firearm x 3
  • Possession of a firearm at unlawful location
  • Possession of restricted firearm together with readily available ammunition
  • Fail to report a restricted firearm lost/stolen

He was remanded into custody and scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Saskatchewan Provincial Court for March 31, 2022, where he was released from custody on a release order by a Judge. He was also subsequently charged by police on April 10, 2022, after failing to abide by his release conditions. He has now been remanded into custody until April 14, 2022.
