Holyrood RCMP investigates theft of vehicle and rash of overnight thefts from vehicles, seeks public’s assistance

Holyrood RCMP is investigating reports of suspicious persons in the Marina Shores area last night. Multiple individuals are suspected of thefts from vehicles in the area, as well as the theft of a vehicle which was later used in a break and enter in St. John's.

This morning, at approximately 1:30 a.m., police received a report of suspicious persons who were attempting to enter a number of parked vehicles in the area of Marina Shores, Holyrood. Patrols were made however the individuals were not located.

Later this morning, police received multiple reports of thefts of property from vehicles in the area that occurred overnight.

Police also received a report of a stolen vehicle, taken while parked at a nearby residence on O'Rourkes Road. The stolen vehicle was used overnight at a commercial break and enter in St. John's, which is being investigated by the RNC.

Holyrood RCMP asks residents in Marina Shores, O'Rourkes Road and surrounding areas to check for surveillance footage captured between late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning and to report any suspicious activities to police.

The investigations are continuing.
