High Level RCMP seek witnesses to hit and run involving a child

On June 18, 2022, at approximately 3:30 pm, High Level RCMP responded to a collision involving a child on a bicycle and a motor vehicle on 100 Avenue north of a grocery store in High Level.

It was determined the child was riding his bicycle on the walking trail behind the grocery store, and as he came off the trail, he was struck by a vehicle. The child sustained a broken wrist and significant road rash to the majority of his body. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to provide assistance to the child.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white, older model Ford sedan with a dirty, black leather interior.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle is described as an aboriginal male with a thin build, 40 to 50 years old with dark skin, brown hair, white in his beard, wearing a hat, and black long sleeved shirt.

High Level RCMP are looking for any witnesses, anyone with any information on this incident, or the driver to come forward and identify himself.
