Headingley RCMP investigate stolen property and arson

On May 2, 2022, Headingley RCMP responded to a report of stolen property at a business in the RM of Macdonald. It was reported that one of the storage containers contained stolen property. An officer attended and an investigation was launched.

On May 4, 2022, at approximately 2:50 am, RCMP responded to a fire at the same location. The investigation determined the same storage container involved in the stolen property investigation had been deliberately set on fire.

Officers identified a suspect and on May 9, 2022, a 29-year-old male was arrested with pending charges for the arson and stolen property. He was released from custody with a court date of July 20, 2022, in Winnipeg.

Over the next several weeks, RCMP conducted numerous interviews and reviewed video surveillance.

On July 14, 2022, Aaron Lavallee, 29, of Winnipeg was formally charged with:

Arson
Break and Enter
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x5
Mischief- Damage to Property
Public Mischief
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
