Halifax District RCMP Major Crime Unit investigating homicide

The Halifax District RCMP Major Crime Unit is investigating a homicide in East Preston.

On August 30, 2022, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Hwy. 7 in East Preston. RCMP officers discovered the body of a deceased man in the vehicle. The RCMP is investigating the death as a homicide.

At this time, we believe the incident was targeted in nature and there is no risk to the public.

The investigation is being led by the Halifax District RCMP Major Crime Unit and is being assisted by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner's Office, RCMP Forensic Identification Services, RCMP Police Dog Services and Halifax District RCMP.
