Guysborough County District RCMP seeking information in mischief investigations

Guysborough County District RCP is seeking information to further multiple mischief investigations, that they believe are related, in relation to incidents that occurred in Lincolnville and Upper Big Tracadie.

On September 17, 2022, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Antigonish County District RCMP received a report of damage to a port-a-potty, a mailbox and a small food pantry on Mattie Rd. in Upper Big Tracadie. The damage was believed to have occurred sometime overnight and it appeared that the items had been damaged by a vehicle.

Later in the day on September 17, Guysborough County District RCMP received a report of a roadside library in Upper Big Tracadie that had also been damaged sometime overnight.

On September 19, 2022, at approximately 7:35 a.m., Guysborough County District RCMP responded to a report of damage to paving equipment at a property on Gero Rd. in Lincolnville. RCMP officers learned that between September 16 and 19, someone had vandalized construction equipment and a port-a-potty with paint and, mobile traffic signal equipment and a skid steer were also damaged.

RCMP investigators have been gathering information and evidence as it relates to these incidents, and believe that they may be related. Investigators are seeking information from the public in an effort to further their investigations.
