Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP seizes nine vehicles for various offences this weekend

Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP conducted traffic stops in various communities this past weekend that resulted in the seizure of nine vehicles for various offences.

On Saturday, September 17,2022, six motorists were stopped at various locations in Grand Falls-Windsor between the hours of 3:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The drivers, five men and one woman, were ticketed for various traffic violations including driving without registration, driving without insurance, and/or driving with a suspended driver's licence. The six vehicles were seized and impounded.

Later that evening, police conducted a traffic stop on Kinsmen's Drive in Bishops Falls. The driver, a 26-year-old Bishops Falls man, showed signs of alcohol impairment and provided a roadside breath sample that was above the Provincial limit. His driver's licence was suspended and his vehicle was seized and impounded.

On Sunday afternoon, while on patrol in Northern Arm, police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on the Main Road. The driver, a 53-year-old Botwood man, showed signs of alcohol impairment and failed a roadside breath test. He was arrested for impaired driving, was transported to the detachment and provided further breath samples that were above the legal limit. The man was released from custody and is set to appear in court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired driving. His driver's licence was suspended and the vehicle was seized and impounded.

At approximately 3:15 a.m. on Monday, police conducted a traffic stop on Polygon Road in Grand Falls-Windsor. The driver, a 20-year-old Grand Falls Windsor man, showed signs of alcohol impairment and provided a roadside breath sample that was above the Provincial Limit. His driver's licence was suspended and his vehicle was seized and impounded.
