Springdale RCMP, along with the Springdale Fire Department, responded to a major fire at Yates Boat Building on Corporal Bouzane Boulevard last evening in Springdale. No one was inside the building at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. Damages to the structure and vehicles were extensive.
The fire was significant and resulted in the evacuation of a neighbouring retirement home. As well, the main road in Springdale was impassable for nearly two hours as fire fighters battled the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
